Baharat - The Essential Middle Eastern Spice Mix

Equipment

  • Spice or coffee grinder

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp black peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp whole cloves
  • ½ tsp cardamom seeds
  • 1 ½ tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • Set aside the paprika, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Put all the other ingredients in the grinder and grind for 5 seconds.
  • Add the paprika, cinnamon and nutmeg and pulse for 1-2 seconds.
  • Keep stored in an airtight glass jar.
