Whisk milk, salt and eggs until smooth. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat. Soak bread slices in mixture until saturated. Cook bread on each side for a couple of minutes, until golden brown.

The Sugar Syrup
Add 1/2 cup of sugar to half a cup of water and bring to a boil.
Simmer for about 4 minutes on a medium heat until the liquid becomes "sticky" (To test, drop a little syrup on a cold surface or plate and dip a spoon. It should be sticky when you lift it). The syrup thickens when it cools and if by chance it is too thick or solidifies, stir in half teaspoonfuls of hot water untill you get a thick but runny consistency.
Add 1/2 a tsp of Orange Blossom or Rose Water and allow to cool in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
Serve toast at room temperature with a generous drizzle of syrup.
