This is my go-to summertime pasta sauce.
The only cooking it involves is boiling the pasta. For the sauce, all you need is to mix a cup and a half of coarsely chopped juicy tomatoes (beefsteak tomatoes are ideal; Roma tomatoes are not) coarsely shredded fresh basil, plenty of chopped garlic, a quarter cup of olive oil and you are done. Thoroughly mixed with hot drained pasta, the garlic and basil release their flavors. Topped with freshly grated parmesan cheese a little salt and ground pepper and you get a little closer to heaven.
